To provide a block exchange truck capable of increasing workability by reducing work space when replacing a reel and by suppressing elongation of a time required for stopping operation as soon as possible, and to provide a surface mount machine having the block exchange truck.
The block exchange truck 50 retains a number of tape feeders 4 for supplying components by letting out a tape 27 and is detachably composed to a mount machine body. The block exchange truck 50 comprises a reel retention section for retaining the reel 26 wound by the tape 27 while the tape 27 can let out, and a reel stock for retaining a spare reel 26a used when the tape retained by the real retention section is consumed. The centers of reels 26, 26a are arranged while nearly vertically aligning in upper and lower directions.
