To simply and optimally remove inflammatory disease factors by using an adsorbent material most facilitating the recognition of leucocyte directly involved in the inflammatory disease factors, preferably the inflammation, and prescribing the shape of a column derived from a linear velocity optimal for the adsorption, a residence time, a filling rate and a blood flow in a blood treatment column.
This blood component treatment column is characterized in that the column is filled with the adsorbent containing fiber with the average fiber diameter of 4-20 m or particles having surfaces of recessed/projecting structure with the average width and depth of 4-20 m, when passing the blood component, the linear velocity of the blood component is 3.4 cm/min or less and the resident time is within a range of 0.35-2.5 min.
