Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bloom rolling method for a continuously-cast casting bloom capable of obtaining a steel bloom having superior internal quality with firmly pressed porosity and superior pass rates for ultrasonic flaw detecting.
SOLUTION: A continuous casting method for special liquid steel satisfies the following draft r at % on the casting bloom which has a sectioned square with 330 mm or more on a side or a rectangular shape having an equivalent sectioned shape with the square and which is just continuously-cast at surface temperature of 700°C or more after completing solidification. The draft (r) satisfies 25.5≤r×(Dn/hni)0.07≤31.0 for at least each rolling pass of a thicknesswise direction and a widthwise direction, and satisfies r×(Dn/hni)0.07≤31.0 for all rolling passes. Here, r={1-(hno/hni)}×100, Dn is a diameter (mm) of a roll at n-th number of rolling pass, hni is thickness (mm) of a rolled bloom before nth number of rolling pass and hno is thickness (mm) of a rolled bloom after n-th number of rolling pass. After heating the continuously-cast casting bloom at surface temperature of 1100 °C or upper and at temperature difference of 200°C or less between the surface of the casting bloom and inside the casting bloom, bloom rolling is applicable to the casting bloom with the above conditions while the surface temperature of the casting bloom is kept at 700°C or upper before the first rolling.
