Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain a side sill from being deformed in particular at the time of off-set collision, reduce the quantity of retirement of a front pillar, and thereby make a cabin small in deformation.
SOLUTION: In the body structure including a continuously set in-row portion 2a which is integrally or separately set in row so as to be continuous toward the outside and downward directions in the car width line, and is thereby connected with a side sill 3, the continuously set in-row portion 2a to be connected with the side sill 3 is provided in the vicinity of a connecting part 3A where the continuously set in-row portion 2a is connected with the side sill 3, a reinforcing member 15 which is provided with a vertical wall 15a having proof stress against the action of moment that is introduced afterward in the connecting part 3A while being directed inward to the upside on account of impact force that is transmitted to the front side member 2 from the front of a vehicle so as to be finally applied to the connecting part 3A, and with the bulkheads 15b and 15c extended in the car width direction, is piled up over the inner surface of the side sill 3 so as to be fixed thereto.
