PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a book inspection device for book storage management system capable of inspecting a container where a book is stored by mistake, at low cost and labor.SOLUTION: Container identification data D1 attached to a container 12 to be transported to a stack room is read, and the container identification data D1 is associated with book identification data D3 indicating books 32 to be stored in the container 12, and then is stored, for managing book storage in and book delivery from the stack room. First count means 103 acquires a first book number of books stored in the container 12 on the basis of an observation result of the books stored in the container 12, second count means 106 acquires a second book number of books stored in the container 12 managed in storage means 2, and processing means 107 associates inspection data D5 indicating that the first book number and second book number do not match, with the container identification data D1, when the first book number and second book number do not match, and stores the inspection data D5 in the storage means 2.
