PURPOSE: To provide a boots with a shoestring making possible to give a flexibility and rigidity upon the boots according to a user's preference by composing so that a lock-releasable rigidificating device is jointed at the fixing point of a rear portion supporting member in the front portions of support-controlling unit and the boots. CONSTITUTION: A support-controlling unit 7 is positioned at the front of legs so as to bind tight a boots together with strings 4-6 while stretching the strings, otherwise to open or take off the boots while loosening the strings. The support-controlling unit 7 comprises a frame 9 having a supporting means 11, 11' for supporting the leg and the instep of the foot, a rear supporting member 10, and operational lever 13 fixed with a string 4 capable of selecting either one of two stable positions such as a string stretching position 13 and a string loosening position 13'. A lock-releasable rigidificating device 8 is jointed at the fixing point of the rear supporting member 10 in the front of the unit 7 and the boots. The position of the height 18 of an anklebone in the inside surface of the boots and the lower portion of the frame 9 of the both sides of the instep of the foot are combined by a soft heel member 18. Consequently, it can give the flexibility and rigidity of the boots according to the user's preference.
