Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an air conveyor for bottles capable of reducing contamination of the bottles to be conveyed and reducing friction of a guide.
CONSTITUTION: An air conveyor 20, to be used for an article having flanges outwardly extending, comprises a plenum chamber 26 having a base portion, walls extending from the base portion to form a conveying channel 44, flange guides 28 mounted to the walls 46 for supporting articles beneath their flanges, and apertures provided in the walls 46 beneath the flange guides 28 for directing air from the plenum chamber towards portions beneath the flanges of the articles. The flange guides 28 are provided to be angled with respect to the flanges so as to reduce friction.
