Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve durability against deformation of the outer tube of a Bowden cable.
SOLUTION: The outer tube 5o of a Bowden cable comprises a liner 31 made of synthetic resin to slidably contain an inner cable 5i; a number of metallic wires 32 axially arranged along the outer periphery of the liner 31; a first metallic band material 33 helically wound around the outer periphery of the metallic wire 32; a second metallic band material 34 helically wound around the outer peripheries of first metallic band materials 33...; and a covering material 35 made of synthetic resin to cover the outer periphery of the second metallic band material 34. Since the first and second metallic band materials 33 and 34 are wound in a reverse direction to each other, the metallic band materials 33 and 34 are reinforced with each other to prevent deformation. Rapid bending of an outer tube 5o due to deformation is prevented and smooth slide of an inner cable 5i is ensured.
