Title:
BRAKE FRICTION MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000290387
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide brake friction materials difficult in causing gaps around cashew resin dusts even at a high porosity and, at the same time, excellent in resistance to fade-out, resistance to squeaking and resistance to abrasion.

In the brake pad obtained by adding a binder, a lubricant, an abrasion adjustor, and a filler to reinforcing fibers such as metallic fibers, ceramic fibers and organic fibers as the base material, by using a pre-composite material 10 obtained by bonding cashew nut dusts having a size of 100-300 μm with a phenolic resin as the entire or part of the abrasion adjustor and utilizing the resin 11 present around the cashew nut dusts 2 in bonding a matrix 1 containing the base material and the binder therewith so as not to cause gaps around the cashew nut dusts even at increased porosities, the resistance to fade-out is improved with increased porosities and simultaneously, the resistance to squeaking and the resistance to abrasion are improved.
