To provide a brake input device used in a master cylinder and capable of suppressing the occurrence of a jarring abnormal sound caused by the collision of a piston against a stopper when letting a feet go of a brake pedal in an input operation part rapidly to allow a driver to obtain satisfactory feeling of operation.
In this brake input device, an input rod 2 for transmitting operation input to the piston is divided into a first rod 2_1connected with the brake pedal and a second rod 2_1 connected with the piston to connect both of the rods mutually to move them relatively in the axial direction. A reduction gear 4 having the spring characteristics in the axial direction is provided between both of the rods while it is compressed. A mutually butting part 5 having no initial clearance in the axial direction is provided between both of the rods.
