To provide a brake shoe for a bicycle and a brake assembly equipped with the same in which running safety is not deteriorated in the bicycle even when brakes are quickly applied.
The brake shoe 4 includes a holder 41 for mounting on a brake arm with a fixed end forming a fixed part disposed at intervals from the end side of a wheel rim 21, a pad having a friction surface disposed at intervals from the end side when the brake arm is placed at a normal position, and residing on the fixed part braked by the wheel rim when the brake arm is placed in a position to mechanically brake, and a magnetic unit placed at a normal position when a magnetic force is insufficient to reduce the rotational speed of the wheel rim, disposed at intervals from the end side in which a force gradually generates a magnetic field causing a force of the generated magnetic field to reach a mechanical brake position at the time of braking operation, and generates a sufficient attraction force to reduce the rotational speed of the wheel rim, and mounted on the fixed part to form a magnetic field.
