PURPOSE: To improve the safety by operating a braking part by a control part after the input of a stop detection signal at the time of a braking command signal being inputted during the upward travel of a cage, thus holding the stop state of the cage by the braking part.
CONSTITUTION: At the emergency stop time, the excitation of a primary side coil is cut off, and a braking command signal 31 is outputted from an operation control device 22 into a control part 21. In the case of a cage travelling downward at this time, the control part 21 immediately operates a braking part 8 to stop the cage. In the case of the cage travelling upward, the control part 21, upon receiving the braking command signal 31, waits for the input of a stop detection signal 33 from a stop detecting part 23. That is, the control part 21 operates the braking part only after the stop of the cage to hold the stop state.
