Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enhance the oil separating performance by allowing blowby gas of the inside of an overhead camshaft chamber to bypass spaces near both front and rear ends of the overhead camshaft chamber and to flow into a passage-outlet, thereby extending the path of the blowby gas. CONSTITUTION:A breather outlet 6 is connected through a breather passage 4 and a breather chamber 5 to a crank chamber 2 of an overhead camshaft type engine 1. The breather passage 4 is formed through an oil rataining cover 8 in the upper peripheral part of an overhead camshaft chamber 3 inside a head cover 7. In this constitution, the breather passage 4 is extended approxi mately over the total length of the inside of the head cover 7. Further, front and rear passage-inlets 9, 10 are formed close to both front and rear ends of the breather passage 4, and a passage-outlet 11 is formed near the central part. The front and rear passage-inlets 9, 10 are respectively connected to spaces 12,13 near both the front and rear ends of the overhead camshaft chamber 3. Further, a breather chamber 5 is connected to the passage-outlet 11.
