To separate ash from a combustion gas in a combustion exhaust gas and thereby reduce a load on a device for treating an exhaust gas from behind.
An air pipe 2 is installed in a melting tank 1, then a fuel pipe 3 is inserted into the air pipe 2, and the tip of the fuel pipe 3 in the air pipe is immersed into a melt 4 accumulated at the bottom of the tank 1. In addition, an air introduced into the air pipe 2 or a fuel guided into the fuel pipe 3, or both of them are mixed with an ash material, and the ash material is melted with a concurrent operation to bun a mixture of fuel and air in the downstream of the fuel pipe 3. Further, the melt 4 is allowed to drop to the inner bottom of the tank 1, then a combustion gas is squeezed into the melt from the tip of the air pipe 2, and the combustion gas is brought into contact with the melt while causing it to bubble. At the same time, the ash contained in an exhaust gas is mixed into the molt 4. After that, the combustion gas preheats the air passing through the air pipe 2 in its upper part, heating the interior of a furnace, and is finally discharged into an atmosphere.
