PURPOSE: To provide a budding medium which contains trifluoroindole butyric acid and germinates plant cell embryos or adventitious buds with the germination rate increased and the plant growth stimulated after germination.

CONSTITUTION: The budding medium contains 4, 4, 4-trifluoro-3-(indole-3-)-butyric acid, preferably in a concentration of 0.01 to 50mg/l (in medium). The medium is used to effect static culture of plant cell embryos or adventitious buds of carrot, rice plant, asparagus, melon, soybean, celery, eggplant, cucumber, spinach or lettuce at 18 to 25°C to stimulate the germination and growth.
