Abstract:

To provide a fast breeder reactor cooling system building capable of securing apparatus integrity of each cooling system chamber and building integrity and maintaining a function as a cooling system by suppressing a tem perature rise of the building and liners, preventing dispersion of Na aerosol, and suppressing moisture discharge and hydrogen generation.

In a cooling system chamber 1B, powdered heat insulating material 31 is injected and filled in a space between a steel liner 3B, a structural concrete floor 04B, and a board shaped heat insulating material 16B. A powder mainly composed of an oxide, a nitride, or a carbide of Al, Mg, Zr, Si, or Ca or a mixture of these, or a powder of at least one material selected from expanded vermiculite, pearlite, obsidian, and pitchstone is used as the powdered heat insulating material 31.
