PURPOSE: To prepare the subject paper having excellent bulk density and flexibility by making wet paper from aqueous dispersion of a fiber mixture containing specific polyester conjugate fibers and polyvinyl alcohol binder fibers.
CONSTITUTION: A fiber mixture containing (A) 15wt.% of eccentric sheath-core type on side-by-side type polyester conjugate fibers having a latent crimping ability generating three-dimensional crimps in an amount of ≥30 crimps/25mm on a dry heat treatment at 80-180°C and (B) 0.5-10wt.% of polyvinyl alcohol binders fibers having a dissolution temperature of 50-90°C is dispersed in water, and wet paper is made up from the prepared water dispersion and dried at 80-180°C, thereby providing the objective bulky paper having a bulk density of ≤0.08/cm3 on a load of 2.5g/cm3, a water dispersion solubility of ≤120sec. and excellent formulation, uniformity and flexibility.
