To detect the state of flame stably even when the minimum combustion is decreased in a burner where a tip nozzle mesh is fixed to the burner port of a tip nozzle tube constituting a burner and the periphery of the burner port is surrounded by a flame holder by making the burner port of the tip nozzle tube facing a frame rod larger than other burner ports.
When an oil heater is operated, a vaporizer is heated by a heater and liquid fuel pressure fed to a vaporizing tube is gasified and ejected toward the opening 20 of a mixing tube 12. At the same time, primary air is fed into the mixing tube 12 through suction effect incident to gas ejection and mixed gas is fed to a burner head 11. The mixture gas is ejected from a large number of burner ports 13 made under a tip nozzle tube 14 and applied tightly with a tip nozzle mesh 15 and then fired and combusted. Combustion is controlled by detecting a flame current by means of a frame rod 41, and detection accuracy is enhanced by making the burner port 13 facing the frame rod 41 larger than other burner ports.
