Title:
BURNING PART STRUCTURE FOR IGNITER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1151392
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To ensure an optimum burning state in an igniter using alcohol liquid fuel by specifying a surface area of an exposed part of an end burning part of a combustion wick using glass fiber for drawing up the fuel contained in a fuel tank.

A lower end of an absorbing part 52 of a combustion wick 6 is brought into contact with a fiber material 3 in a fuel tank 2 to draw up liquid fuel mainly containing alcohol and immersed into the material 3 by using capillarity. And, an exposed part of an end of a wick projected upward from a wick holder of a burning part 61 of the wick 6 is ignited to generate a flame and to be burned. A burning part 61 of the wick 6 is constituted by bundling glass fiber in a bar-like state. The fiber is projected from an end of a wick holder 7 in length of, for example, 5 mm. And, a surface area of the exposed part of the end burning part projected from the holder 6 of the part 61 of the wick 6 is set to a range of 30 to 170 mm2.
