PURPOSE: To provide a cable cutting device which can easily and efficiently cut and process a cable for underground communication and the like at a work site.

CONSTITUTION: A cable 3 is continuously moved to the longer direction by a moving mechanism 12. A cutting mechanism 38 provided with a cutting blades 50 and 51 capable of being opened/closed is installed in a moving route for the cable 3 in such a way that it can be moved in the moving direction of the cable 3. When the cutting blades 50 and 51 of the cutting mechanism 38 are opened, the cutting mechanism 38 is moved so as to be restored at an original position. When the cutting blades 50 and 51 are closed, the cutting mechanism 38 is permitted to be moved forward from the original position as the cable 3 is continuously moved.
