PURPOSE: To realize efficient cutting of a communication cable equipped with a reinforcement steel wire rope in one body by providing a pair of cutting tips symmetrically along a symmetrical axis and connecting both cutting tips in their middles by means of a pivot pin in the form of scissors and further giving them tool angles most appropriate to cable cutting.

CONSTITUTION: Cutting parts 1, 1 are equipped with steel wire rope cutting parts 1a shaped like small circular arc and copper wire cutting parts 1b shaped like large circular arc which are exchangeable so as to fit the shape of a cable B. When the cutting parts 1, 1 are put in opening condition to hold the cable B which is an object of cutting and driving measures are driven to insert a piston 8b and a wedge 8 between trundling rollers 6, 6, the cable B receives strong cutting force due to triangle of forces linking force exertion points on a pivot pin 3, trundling rollers 6, 6 and a roller contact face 8a. The cable B is completely severed while the cutting force is being adapted to the form of the cable B.
