Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable with an optical module in which a temperature rise of optical fibers inside a case of the optical module is suppressed and thus breakage of the optical fibers is prevented over a long period of time.SOLUTION: A connector 3a being an optical module is provided on an end of a cable 2 incorporating optical fibers 10a. The connector 3a comprises a case 20 to which the cable 2 is connected, the optical fibers 10a that are drawn from an end face 2b of the cable 2 connected to the case 20 to an inside of the case 20, and a surface light-emitting element that is mounted on a substrate 30 housed in the case 20 and optically connected to the optical fibers 10a. The optical fibers 10a are out of contact with the case 20 and the substrate 30.
