Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate the maximum permissible speed in papermaking in the event that the steam pressure in the drier part of a papermaking machine is increased up to the limit value both under the situations of being unchanged and changed in an operating condition.
SOLUTION: The maximum permissible speed in papermaking can be estimated by the following steps: (1) substituting an equation of heat balance of a drier part of a papermaking machine and an operational equation for the water vaporization content from web in the drier part with difference equations; (2) substituting these difference equations with the maximum permissible steam pressure value supplied to the steam drums of the drier parts 14, 18 and the coefficient k of drying rate found by tuning the drier model to the steady state in the actual process, followed by computation; (3) correcting through increasing and/or decreasing the papermaking speed so as for the desired value of moisture regain of web in the outlet of the drier part to accord with the computed value of the moisture regain in the preferred range of permissible errors.
