CALCULATION METHOD OF STRESS, AND RUPTURE AND ALLOWABLE STRESS INTENSITY OF MULTI-LAYER GROUND BY EQUIVALENT CONVERSION THICKNESS THEORY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of accurately calculating a stress, a coefficient of rupture mode support force, and an allowable stress intensity in a multi-layer ground.
SOLUTION: An equivalent conversion thickness theory provided by generalizing a Barber method for a two-layer ground to a method for the multi-layer ground is adopted to a vertical stress analysis for the multi-layer ground to provide an analysis method using stress distribution width. Though this method is an approximate analysis method, it is clearly and properly express the strict solution of a vertical stress in a multi-layer elastic body. Also, a relation between the rupture mode and the coefficient of support force on shearing/distribution rupture and drawing rupture is obtained by using an analysis method by the stress distribution width using the generalized equivalent conversion thickness. To calculate the allowable stress intensity of the multi-layer ground, an original ground is classified into a sandy soil and a viscous soil, and the effects of the depth of the ground level to the bottom level of a foundation, an underwater level, the lower soil layer at the bottom level of the foundation, and stress distribution width are taken into account to provide the calculation method for the allowable stress intensity.
