Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a calender which can improve heat transfer between a tempering roller and a material sheet.
CONSTITUTION: The calender is provided with a pressing gap 3, a tempering roller 4 which can be heated or cooled, and a charging device 12 for electrostatically charging a material web 1 conveyed to the tempering roller 4. The charging device 12 is disposed within a wedge-shaped space 11 between the tempering roller 4 and the material web 1.
