Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain an accurate information on an opening of a throttle by calibrating an offset value on the basis of a sensor output at the previous time of sampling in the case when the opening of the throttle is substantially zero at the current and previous times of sampling. CONSTITUTION:Sampling is executed at each sampling period, e.g. in each one second, which is longer enough than a chattering time of a switch and a time for determination and processing by a control element. Next, it is determined whether an idle switch is ON or not, and when it is OFF, a sign of ineffectiveness, e.g. 0, is put in an updated data storage place. When the idle switch is ON, it is determined whether updated data, a read value of a throttle opening sensor at the previous time, is effective or not, and when it is ineffective, the read value at the current time is stored in the place of the updated data, while updating of an offset value is not executed. When the read value at the previous time is effective, the current offset value and the read value at the previous time, the updated data, are subjected to simple average and the result is taken as a fresh offset value, while the current read value is used as the updated data.
