Abstract:
To provide a cam chain tensioner for an internal combustion engine easy in maintenance and assembling works.SOLUTION: In a cam chain tensioner (70) for an internal combustion engine including an oil lock-type cam chain lifter (71), a guide cylinder (72) has a cylindrical shape and is vertically disposed, an inner peripheral surface is divided into an upper inner peripheral surface (74U) and a lower inner peripheral surface (74L) at a step portion (73s) as a boundary, an inner diameter of the lower inner peripheral surface (74L) is larger than an inner diameter of the upper inner peripheral surface (74U), an oil reservoir (T) expanded at an inner space and opened at its upper part, is formed on an upper end portion of the guide cylinder (72), a push rod (80) is formed into a cylindrical shape which can be kept in slide-contact with the upper inner peripheral surface (74U) of the guide cylinder (72), and an annular projection (89) which can be kept into slide-contact with the lower inner peripheral surface (74L) of the guide cylinder (72) is disposed on an outer peripheral surface of a lower end portion of the push rod (80).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 15
