Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the weight and to improve the durability by integrally forming a cam contour portion of a hollow structure having a cam surface and a beam portion extended inside the cam contour portion by metal, and filling up the inside of the cam contour portion with resin to form a cam. CONSTITUTION:A cam 2 of a cam shaft 1 is formed by dividing an aluminium material or the like obtained by extrusion molding. The inside of the aluminium cam 2 is filled up with resin to form a damping portion 3. A cylindrical shaft portion 5 for connecting between the cams 2 is formed by resin integral with the damping portion 3. At this time, the aluminium cam 2 is formed by a cam contour portion 6 of a hollow structure having a cam surface 2s and a lot of beam portions 7-12. extended radially from the center of rotation of the cam 2 toward the cam contour portion 6. Thus, the weight of the cam shaft 1 can be reduced, the strength and durability thereof can be improved, and the production of vibration and noise can be prevented.
