To provide a camera finder device wherein a view field frame is accurately positioned with reference to the exit surface of a prism, and also, which can be efficiently manufactured at a low cost, and to provide a method for manufacturing the finder device.

As for the camera finder device 100 provided with the prism 10, the view field frame 20 arranged on the exit surface 12 of the prism 10, a prism holding member 30, and a view field frame positioning means, the view field frame 20 is formed of a plate, a view field frame pressing part 33a coming into contact with the view field frame 20 is arranged on the prism holding member 30 while facing the prism 10. Besides, the view field frame positioning means is constituted of bosses 14a and 14b projecting into the optical axis direction of the exit surface 12 and the holes 22a and 22b of the view field frame 20. As for the view field frame 20, the extending part 22 is sandwiched between the view field pressing part 33a of the prism holding member 30 and the prism 10 while positioning the view field frame 20 by the view field frame positioning means, and also, the view field frame fixing part 23 is fixed to the prism holding member 30 by screwing.
