To provide a camera which has operability enhanced by saving the trouble of set having to the date and time.

The camera, which is loaded with a replaceable battery and operates with the electric power from the loaded battery, measures the time using a timer 51, writes the measured current time in an EEPROM 80 by a CPU core 53 by each interval of one minute, reads out the time written in the EEPROM 80 as current time by the timer 51 after the battery has been replaced, measures the time elapsed from the current time and displays the date and time at a display part 15 by the CPU core 53, and imprints the date and time on a film by a date writing mechanism 40, when a photograph is taken.
