Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CAN communication device and a fixation determination method which shortens the time for determining presence or absence of fixation of the message buffer in a CAN controller.SOLUTION: A CAN communication device including a CAN controller for controlling the CAN communication, and having a message buffer for storing a CAN message includes a sequencer for writing a pattern value used for determining presence or absence of fixation of the message buffer therein, during the boot process, and then reading the value written in the message buffer before being written in a storage means, and an arithmetic processing unit for reading the value stored in the storage means during initialization before CAN communication, and then determining presence or absence of fixation of the message buffer, by comparing the value with th pattern value.
