Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a decorative candle-like food, by embedding a wick material consisting of a combustible edible material in a state of upwardly projecting by a given length in a body consisting of an edible material having shape holding property at ordinary temperature without staining cake surfaces even by burning the wick body.

CONSTITUTION: A wick inserting hole 2 is formed in the central part of a cylindrical body 1, e.g. chocolate, consisting of an edible material having shape holding property at ordinary temperature and a wick body 3, e.g. spaghetti or macaroni, consisting of a combustible edible material in a state of upwardly projecting from the top surface of the body 1 by a given length is embedded in the wick inserting hole 2 and supported. Thereby the wick body 1 frames up by ignition and the resultant food is suitably used as a decorating candle erected on a fancy cake, e.g. birthday cake, etc. Since both the body 1 and the wick body 2 are constituted of the edible materials without changing flavor, the candle can be eaten after snuffing the flame.
