PURPOSE: To improve support rigidity of a brake pedal by forming an extension part, extended to a position below a member on the car body side, to a brake pedal bracket to support the extension part to the member on the car body side, in a device which has the member on the car body side of closed sectional structure located between front pillars on both sides.

CONSTITUTION: In the body of a car body, a cowl member 5 on the car body side of closed sectional structure extending in the direction of the width of a car is disposed to the upper part of a dash panel 4 by which an engine room 2 and a car room 3 are partitioned from each other, and a cowl unit U1 to which a brake pedal 14 is mounted is arranged on the front side of the cowl member 5. The brake pedal 14 is supported through a bracket 13 attached to a dash member 16 of the cowl unit U1. In this case, the bracket 13 has an upper wall part 13a and a side wall part 13b formed approximately in a triangular shape in association with an extension part 13d extended to a position below the cowl member 5 on the unit side. The part on the upper wall side of the extension part 13d is fastened against the cowl member 5 through a spacer member 21 by means of a bolt 22.
