Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately read magnetic information in an inserted magnetic card while preventing unauthorized reading of the magnetic information in the magnetic card.SOLUTION: A card processing device comprises: an opening being an inlet/outlet for a magnetic card; a magnetic head which is provided in the vicinity of the opening to output a signal in accordance with variation of an electromagnetic field; one or more magnetic field generation units which radiate a disturbing magnetic field in the vicinity of the opening; one or more voltage detection units which detect a voltage corresponding to the disturbing magnetic field radiated from the magnetic field generation units to output a detection signal; and a processing unit which captures and processes the output signal of the magnetic head and the detection signal based on detection in the voltage detection units. The processing unit subtracts the detection signal based on detection in the voltage detection units from the output signal of the magnetic head and reads magnetic information from a signal resulting from the subtraction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
