To enable, for example, a person who has difficulty in seeing to easily recognize what card is or the use state of the card, e.g. the direction of insertion into a reader by providing a mark, provided to a card main body, with a card discriminating means.
The card main body is made of a sheet of, for example, plastic, paper, etc., ad the mark 11 is provided at part of the card main body by, for example, printing. Then the mark 11 is provided with the card discriminating means 12. This card discriminating means 12 is used to make a person who has difficulty in seeing discriminate the kind, usage, etc., of the card. Namely, when the card is a cash card or telephone card, the discriminating means 12 is used to discriminate the direction of insertion of the card into the reader or discriminate the top or reverse of the card. For example, the recessed part 20 of one of four hearts of the mark 11 is formed as the recessed part or notch part 22 of one edge 21 of the card main body 10. With this recessed part 22, the correct insertion of the card main body into the reader can be discriminated.
