To provide pile with napping properties, to form an orderly pile surface and to make functionality imparting effect on the whole carpet in a carpet obtained by weaving a warp group composed of warp yarn, relatively thick covered warp and pile warp and ground wefts of an over shed and an under shed and thickly growing loops of pile warp at the surface side.

A relatively thick laminated warp 4 is arranged at low tension in the same position as that of the covered yarn 3 in a warp group A composed of a pair of ground warps 1a and 1b, a relatively thick covered warp 3 and pile warp 2. Group wefts 5 of an upper shed (a) and a lower shed (b) are woven, the laminated warp is superimposed on and incorporated into the covered warp to strengthen napping properties of pile and to make imparting effect on the whole carpet.
