PURPOSE: To increase the width to be used for speed control and to make the efficient speed control possible by locating detecting means before and behind the center of a moving car at the time it stops at the stopping position.
CONSTITUTION: A two-phase sensor 12 has optical sensors 12A, 12B before and after a moving car A. Being in a state it is escaped from light by a slit board 20, the sensor detects the position of the moving car A to a target stopping position Pc of a station ST. In order to let the moving car A stop at the target stopping position Pc of the ST, the conduction of a primary coil C1 is so controlled that the speed of the moving car at the target stopping position A may be a specified target speed based on the detection result of a two phase sensor 12A installed on the side opposite to the proceeding direction of the moving car A. When letting the moving car A start from the target stopping position Pc of the ST, the conduction of the primary coil C2 is so controlled that the speed of the moving car A may be a specified one at the target stopping position Pc based on the detection result of a two-phase sensor 12B installed at the proceeding direction side of the moving car A.
