This carrier system is provided for carrying the article between a plurality of processing devices 2. The carrier system includes a track, a carrier 5 and a buffer 9. The track includes a plurality of loops 11 adjacent to the plurality of processing devices 2. The carrier 5 carries the article by traveling on the plurality of loops (for example, a first loop 11, a second loop and a third loop) by one-way travel. The buffer 9 includes a first placing base 85 and a second placing base 86 arranged in close vicinity to both side parts of the loops on the inside of the loops and juxtaposed in a row in the longitudinal direction of the loops. The first placing base 85 and the second placing base 86 include respectively a first opening part 85a opening toward one side of both side parts of the loops and a second opening part 86a opening toward the opposite side of both side parts of the loops.
