PURPOSE: To obtain the cartridge filter excellent in microbe adsorptivity by forming a filter bed on the surface of a core with a base material coated with a vinyl-based copolymer of specified structure.
CONSTITUTION: A vinyl-based copolymer shown by formula I (where R1 is a benzyl group, 4-16C alkyl group, etc., R2 is hydrogen atom or a 1-3C alkyl group, X is a halogen atom, and Y is hydrogen atom, a 1-3C alkyl group, etc.) is deposited on a base material of nonwoven fabric, paper, etc. A filter bed is formed on the surface of a core of metal, ceramic, etc., with the base material to obtain a cartridge filter. The microbe adsorptivity of the cartridge filter thus obtained is drastically improved, and the microbe transiently seized is not easily released.
