To provide a caster that does not produce any inconvenience such as insufficient ground contacted state irrespective of uneveness of a floor and to provide a furniture that does not produce any inconvenience such as free movement by an external force irrespective of applying a brake force against the caster.
This caster comprises a caster body C1 having a wheel C12 arranged at a frame C11, a fixing shaft C2 that is installed at a frame C11 of this caster body C1 in such a way that it passes through the frame C11, can be move up and down and has its upper end fixed to a furniture body T, and a resilient member C3 stored in the frame C11 under a state that it is wound around the fixing shaft C2 so as to cause the caster body C1 to be elastically biased downward against the fixing shaft C2, and a brake mechanism C4 for use in applying a brake against the wheel C12 of the caster body C1.
