In the casting apparatus 10 for producing the battery terminal composed of a plate-like strap and a pole column vertically extended from this strap, a mold 11 having a cavity 12 complement to the battery terminal and formed as the pole column forming portion 12b downward, a cooling means 14 arranged at the surrounding of the pole column forming portion 12b in the cavity 12 in the inner part of the mold, a molten metal supplying mold 13 having a runner 18 and a molten metal pool part 17 and supplying the molten metal 19 from the pouring basin part 17 adjoined to the mold 11 through the runner 18 and a weir 15 arranged in the runner 18 and composed of a material having the heat conductivity at higher than that of the mold 11, are provided, and the surface 15a faced to the cavity 12 in this weir 15 is peculiarly connected with a part of the side surface of the pole column forming portion 12b.
