Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a casting apparatus in which a gate seal pin can be easily pulled up, after molten metal in a cavity is solidified.SOLUTION: The casting apparatus includes: a metal mold for forming a cavity having in a lower part, an opening for introducing the molten metal from a pressurization chamber; and the gate seal pin constituted so as to freely advance to and retreat from the opening and opening-closing the opening of the cavity. The opening includes a first opening part and a second opening part provided under the first opening part and formed in a tapered shape so as to have a diameter becoming larger toward the lower end from the upper end. The gate seal pin includes a fitting part fittable to the first opening part and a tapered part provided under the fitting part and formed in a tapered shape so as to have a diameter becoming smaller toward the lower end from the upper end, In the most advanced position of the gate seal pin, the lower end of the fitting part fitted to the first opening part is positioned in the same position as the lower end of the first opening part or above its position.
