PURPOSE: To improve the quality and rollability of a metal block by arranging the die equipped with a semi-spherical recessed die half relatively movably to a sleeve and pressurizing by its die closing after pouring a molten metal into a flat semi-spherical cavity.

CONSTITUTION: A sleeve 12 is provided at the end of the member 11 advanced and retreated by a hydraulic cylinder 14 and the die 7 equipped with a semi- spherical recessed die half 8 is arranged by its fixture. A plunger 16 having the die half 18 corresponding to the die half 8 is provided and arranged movably via a hydraulic cylinder 17. A flat spherical cavity 19A is formed by die haves 8, 18 via cylinders 14, 17 and a molten metal is poured from a funnel 15. The plunger 16 is then moved by extending a piston rod 17a and a spherical metal block 20B is formed by pressurizing it by deforming the molten metal of the cavity 19A inside by its contraction. The quality and rollability of the metal block are improved because the generation of the cavity and piping of the metal block 20B is prevented.
