To provide a catalyst carrier having a high isostatic strength and having a high modification ratio.
The catalyst carrier has a ceramic block having two opening surfaces and an outer peripheral surface and of which the cells extending between two opening surfaces are demarcated by cell walls. The ceramic block is formed by combining the outer peripheral honeycomb unit, which constitutes the outer peripheral part of the ceramic block, and the central honeycomb unit, which constitutes the central part of the ceramic block through an adhesive when it is combined. The outer peripheral honeycomb unit has an outer peripheral cell wall constituting the outer peripheral surface of the honeycomb unit and the outer peripheral cell wall has the outermost peripheral cell wall forming the outer peripheral surface of the ceramic block when it is combined as the ceramic block. The outer peripheral honeycomb unit is constituted so that the corner part on the side coming into contact with the outermost peripheral cell wall of the cell coming into contact with the outermost peripheral cell wall is formed into a curved surface.
