Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides in the presence of oxygen at high efficiency by using such a catalyst obtd. by ion-exchanging the all or part of alkali metal ions, alkaline-earth metal ions or hydrogen ion in zeolite-A with metal ions such as Ti4+, Zr4+, and Sm4+.
CONSTITUTION: The catalyst consists of zeolite-B obtd. by ion-exchanging the all or a part of alkali metal ions, alkaline-earth metal ions or hydrogen ion in zeolite-A with metal ions such as Ti4+, Zr4+, and Sm4+. The zeolite-A is expressed by the compositional formula MA[(AlO2)x(SiO2)y].ZH2O. In the formula, M is an alkali metal ion, alkaline-earth metal ion or hydrogen ion, and nA=X wherein, (n) is the valence of ion M, and Y/X≥5. By using the obtd. catalyst, harmful nitrogen oxides in exhaust gas from factories or automobiles can be efficiently reduced in the presence of oxygen.
