Abstract:

To provide a catalyst which enables one to industrially, efficiently, and inexpensively produce a high-molecular-weight polyketone polymer without depositing a polymer on a reactor and to provide a method for producing a polyketone by using the catalyst.

The catalyst is obtained by reacting (a) a palladium compound adsorbed or supported on a carrier represented by formula (1) with (b) a bidentate ligand having a group 15 atom and (c) and an anion of an acid of a pKa of 4 or below. The method for producing the polyketone comprises copolymerizing carbon monoxide with at least one ethylenically unsaturated compound in the presence of the catalyst.
