Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart high performance to a catalyst by specifying the total amt. of alkali metals contained in the catalyst.
SOLUTION: Metal palladium and a compd. selected from heteropolyacids contg. hetero atoms selected from P, Si, B, Al, Ge, Ti, Zr, Ce, Co and Cr and poly-atoms selected from Mo, W, V, Nb and Ta or salts of the heteropolyacids are carried on a carrier and the total amt. of alkali metals contained in the resultant catalyst is reduced to ≤100 milligram atom (expressed in terms of alkali metal atoms) per 1 kg catalyst to obtain the objective high performance catalyst.
