Abstract:

To provide a catalyst for propylene polymerization which can give an olefin polymer containing only a small amount of a low-molecular-weight component and having a molecular weight distribution controlled relatively widely and which, when compared with a metallocene alone, can efficiently produce a propylene polymer excellent in fluidity, adhesiveness, and particulate properties (e.g. bulk density).

This metallocene catalyst for propylene polymerization comprises component [A-1]: a transition metal compound represented by formula (Ia), component [A-2]: a transition metal compound represented by formula (Ia) (provided that this compound is a metallocene compound containing a metal different from that of component [A-1]), component [B]: an ion-exchange phillosilicate, and component [C]: an organoaluminum compound.
