To provide a catching device and a method for holding a weft yarn inserted into a rapier weaving machine, and the rapier weaving machine having or installed with the catching device, certainly holding even a thick weft yarn after being inserted by performing the method.
The catching device 1 for holding the weft yarn inserted into the rapier weaving machine having at least one rapier 6 movable along a rapier track 6a includes a holding channel 5 attachable to be fixed to the rapier weaving machine for receiving and holding a yarn end of the inserted weft yarn 9. In addition, the catching device includes a deflection nozzle 3 attachable to be fixed to the rapier weaving machine for directing the yarn end of the inserted weft yarn to the holding channel 5.
