Abstract:
PURPOSE: To flatten an output waveform of a CCD linear sensor for a signal period and to improve a difference of signal levels of odd and even pixels.
CONSTITUTION: The CCD image sensor comprises a light receiving region formed of a plurality of light receiving elements (pixels), first and second horizontal transfer registers disposed at both sides of the light receiving region through read gates, a floating diffusion region 7 for alternately detecting signal charges from the registers 4, 5 as output signals, and a CCD linear sensor having a reset gate 9. Transfer unit of final stages of the registers 4, 5 are separated, phases of drive pulses ΦH1', ΦH2' to be applied to the transfer units of the final stages are deviated from those of drive pulses ΦH1', ΦH2' to be applied to previous transfers from the above transfer units, and a noise component 16 is superposed on the output waveform of an ON period TR of the gate 9.
